Hey, it is Jen! It has been a minute since I wrote on my blog! I am back with the third edition of weekly favorites (wow it has really been that long!)

1) Season 4 of Riverdale
It for sure is a crazy show with its insane plotlines and logical loopholes but we don’t watch TV for real life, right? Well, Riverdale Season 4 is actually shaping up to be a great season! I teared up watching the premiere - the first episode was such a beautiful tribute to Luke Perry’s character, Fred Andrews. No gargoyles in sight but I had a lot of fun watching Betty and her mom interact with the Farm. They are seriously such a dynamic duo. Also, Camila Mendes plays Veronica very well - dealing with a family fallout is very much relatable for literally anyone, of course on a much smaller scale. I will say I am surprised some Riverdale characters manage to do SO WELL academically when they are always out solving mysteries, fighting bad guys and dealing with drama 24/7. What a life!
2) Dr. Brandt Luminizer Primer [gifted by Octoly]
Dr. Brandt is one of those skincare brands that happen to be perfect for Asian skin, especially super oily skin like mine. When I saw Dr. Brandt pop up on the Octoly platform, I was more than happy to try out the luminizer primer since I already use one of their pore-reducing primers. The luminizer primer is very lightweight and does not stick to my skin - very important especially when the sun is constantly beating down on you! Yes, oily skin is still very much a problem even when it is cold outside because oily skin pores produce excess oil to compensate for dryness. (I didn’t ask for my skin!) I apply this primer before I put on my cushion foundation. It has really good oil control built-in. Try it for yourself! You can find this one at Sephora!
I can’t believe I just discovered SEPTA this year - you Philly people will definitely laugh. Props to Monica for discovering this cozy little nook in Old City: we spent hours just taking pictures and creating content because it is apparently raining ALL WEEK NEXT WEEK. The outside is photogenic with cute little pastel green chairs and a wooden table with a flower on it. We used that table to shoot all of our beauty content - not even kidding - it was that beautiful <3 I am personally all about supporting small businesses in the Philadelphia area so my friend and I went inside and got a chocolate ginger molasses cookie. Let me tell you - it was delicious!! We will definitely be back :)
4) Patterned coat from Piper Boutique
It is no secret but I am seriously in love with all the clothes from Piper Boutique. They have two locations: one in University City, Philadelphia and upstate New York in Saratoga. Then again, I am in love with boutiques in general; wearing unique staples and clothes are a plus. The owner is super sweet, and is also a denim specialist, and I have gotten a lot of outerwear and denim from Piper! This patterned coat stands out to me so much, because it is the perfect mix of menswear and feminine flair. Think of it as a longer blazer! It is for sure a statement coat and it goes really well with any basic, solid color long-sleeved top (think gray, taupe colors) + high-waisted denim. I love wearing elevated casual to class, and being a business student, I always like to feel I am on top of the world (I am being slightly tongue-in-cheek here). This coat is a major confidence boost <3 You can button up this coat too but I personally like to keep it open since it is not too cold…yet.
5) My pinky ring from Mejuri
I have heard so many good things about Mejuri - their jewelry is both good quality and at a good price point. You definitely get your bang for your buck (lol now I just sound like the stereotypical business school student). They have a store in Soho, and the aesthetics inside are on point. I have been looking for the right pinky ring for a while, and then I suddenly remembered Mejuri one day. A lot of my friends are Mejuri influencers; I also have a dainty necklace from them! My hands are super small, but size 3 from Mejuri is a perfect fit. I really appreciate they are coming out with half-sizes for the Dome Pinky Ring. I have gotten into rings lately - they are definitely statement accessories. I wear this one with my other silver ring from Mia Love Shop - yes, I am the type to just throw things together, a perfect parallel to how I approach my life.
Well that is all for this week <3 <3
